Pediatric Cancer: Change is Needed

  • 1 out of every 285 children will develop cancer before the age of 20. Over 47 children are diagnosed with cancer each day; 400,000 new cases occur each year.

  • Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease for children ages 1 thru 19.

  • Despite these trends, less than 4% of the federal budget for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancer.

  • Through 2020, only 6 new FDA approved drugs have been specifically developed for childhood cancer.
